Its a little more than 14 days until spring training starts, and anything can still happen in the baseball season. My Preseason World Series prediction is the Boston Red Sox will beat the Atlanta Braves. The Red Sox are far and away the best team in baseball, and will win the AL Championship over the Detroit Tigers. Their pitching staff is full of great arms in both the starting rotation and the pen, and they have one of the best closers in baseball. The lineup again will have plenty of pop to support anyone. I think that the Braves will beat the New York Mets in the NL championship. Although the Mets added Santana, I don't think that their rotation will be deep enough to win it all, although he will definitely help in short series. The Braves are going back to a strong rotation that is the best it has been since Smoltz, Glavine and Maddux. Now they have another possible HOFer in Tim Hudson instead of Maddux. Even if Mike Hampton is unable to play all year, Chuck James, Jair Jurrjens, and Jeff Bennett all could be good 4-5 options. The combination of CHipper and Tex in the middle will give the lineup plenty of pop, and I think the Braves will return to the playoffs, although they will again fail to win the WS. Comments? -The Braves won't sniff the playoffs.  Not in that division.  I'd be surprised if they finish .500 honestly.

I'm going with Mets/Red Sox this year. Winner: Mets.

I was going with the Tigers for pretty much the entire offseason, but I've been thinking a bit more and I really like the Angels this year. Their pitching staff will be solid as always, Torii Hunter adds a huge dimension in the field in addition to allowing his pitchers to feel comfortable throwings strikes. They have looked awesome in ST as well.
