Adams and Ping both usually have pretty good product for reasonable prices.  Ping's irons (Adams too) are mad expensive, but their woods aren't.  Taylor Made stuff is pretty reasonable too; and it's really consistent to use.  They have nice metals too.

I'm not much a golfer, I mainly just hit at the range & will go to a course if anyone ever wants to go (even though I completely suck & am the definition of a 'slicer')...however, all I've got are Tour Model II irons & 2 of my woods are Pro Select. My 1 wood is great though, it's a driver by Odyssey and has the nicest grip I've EVER felt. Therefore I guess I'd be into buying anything by Odyssey. I'm not sure how they are compared to the bigger named brands (as TommyD mentioned above), but for comfort alone I'd go for Odyssey.

I like Nike stuff.  Mostly I think that whatever a person has confidence in is going to make the biggest difference.  So if you like Odyssey stuff then you should do it.
