If we dont get one till the sixth round or so I'd love to draft Adrian Arrington.  He'd be a good late round value pick.

Hazem-I got a question for yah.  With all of the good CB and S that are left can you see us picking a second player at either position?

Man the moore I think about it, the moore I love the Thomas pick. The man can playe any scheme, safety and corner. He is tall, plays physical and loves to lay his body on the line to stop the run. Madison is geting old and we need another corner with #1 potential.

I think he will contribute right away on special teams, with his return game

Piotr Czech (or somtin) is a guy the Giants want.. but not in the sixth, I think theyll try to pick him up as a UDFA

Sam... against the grain probably, but I like Douglas.  Speed to stretch the field.  Probably a career #3, but we're talking mid-rounds.  Could be the home run threat Sinorice was supposed to be.  Later in the day I'd take a shot at Franklin or Garcon.

I expect Manningham to be gone in the first few picks of round 3... so there's no point kidding ourselves there.

i really want us to go LB in the 3rd and get either bell or gooden! with the thomas pick, we can be sure that we are goin to cut ties to R-Dub.

how can we be losers of this draft so far? the experts are just as good as all of us...all they do is throw their opionions around just like us and if the teams go against their opinions then they declare them losers just like they declared us losers last year.

by the way, how great did you feel when the commish said "And with the 31st pick, the super bowl champs select....." i never get tired of hearing those words

I can live with a LB at #3.  But I'm wondering if they've fallen in love with anyone.  We should find out quickly when/if they trade up.

One of the upsides of having only 2 rounds on Saturday is all the talent still available on Sunday now. In the past I wouldn't even tune in on Sunday. I'm locked in for NFL Network at 10 am today though.

I'd love to see the Gmen packed our 3rd and a 6th to move up for one of the LBs (Adibi or Hendeson preferably)

what i didnt like is when they had kenny phillips pros and cons up on the cons part it said he wasnt sean taylor/ed reed....weve had this argument for around a month now. it isnt fair to him that the coaches hyped him up to be that...however what if he is? what a pick for us. i think ff55yrs said kenny p can turn into a turnover machine in our D with the type of pressure we put on the QB. cant wait to see him in blue

Wasn't near a computer yesterday but I'm BUSTING because we got my man Phillips AND we kept Shockey!  I couldn't be happier on either account.  Don't know much about Thomas but he played in a big time program against some big time receivers and did pretty well from what little I've read.  Kind of a reach, but you gotta trust JR on that one.  So what LB is going to drop to us in round 3?  I'd LOVE to have Beau Bell there, but that isn't likely.  

We've got some big receivers in the NFC, and in the league in general. Now we have the secondary to match up with them.

Did anyone notice that Reese seemed pissed when asked about Shockey in his post draft interview? I Think New Orleans tried to screw us and JR was ready to deal. Probably had someone in mind and lost out.

Does Terrell Thomas have more value than Connor?

I gotta think, Reese and co are seeing a big drop off in talent at CB. Particularly with the size, toughness and big game experience that Thomas has.

But let me tell you something -- I have a new found respect for the media we criticize daily.  The speed at which everything happens is amazing and the amount of knowledge these guys have and maintain is unparalleled.

The first thing I received yesterday was a huge manual filled with about 200 rookies profiles and career stats -- among other things.  I can't even explain how big this thing is, but it had to weight 7 lbs (no kidding, maybe more).

On the previous I mentioned that I wanted  Bennett or Doucet as a 3rd rounder.  I meant Douglas instead of Doucet.  I also forgot about Franklin.  I am undecided on Manningham.  I think "Manning to Manningham...Touchdown" would sound awesome!

I think OL (hopefully OT), WR & LB are the next priorities.

I think we could move up... simply because the NFC East teams have a lot of 3rd round picks.  We may want to jump them if there's a player we want.

Actually, with that said, I can attempt to tell you guys anything about any player you want to know.

The information in this manual is more impressive than any internet search could possibly offer.  It was created and written by NFL scouts.  It's very, VERY detailed.  Like, down to a single play made in some random game that stood out for no real apparent reason.

Yeah, like you said, all he did was turn down a trade for a tight end who is twice as good as all of the guys Kiper was drooling over at that position, and then get the critical piece that will help our defense in Phillips and a guy who will add character, size and speed to our defensive backfield. I guess we should turn our draft over to the analysts so we might field a good team.

If you look at our defensive backfield now it is starting to look a lot like the intimidating backfields of the old Eagles in regard to size and intelligence, but I think we've got even a little more speed. In Knight and Thomas we've now got two serious hitters. Ross, Knight, Thomas and Phillips are all excellent tacklers who wrap up and get their man to the ground. Webster is a potentially excellent shut-down cover guy because of his press ability. Johnson showed flashes of the ability to blow up plays and made a good number of excellent open-field tackles last year. Thomas and Johnson are both excellent edge blitzers. It's a pretty terrific combination that should get a lot better. And that's without mentioning Butler's hitting ability and intelligence, and Dockery's quickness.

And the even better news is that there are still a lot of good players available who can help take the defense up a notch at linebacker and defensive tackle. "

Director of College Scouting Marc Ross said that the Thomas, who has a history of injuries (knee and shoulder) passed the team’s evaluations so there is no concern. He also added tht Thomas was drafted to be a corner.

He also chuckled when asked if Steve Smith, Thomas’ former teammate at USC, had any input into the selection. “No, but we talked to Terrell and he said he used to shut down Smith in practice every day.”

Terrence, that's probably too early for Hart. But he would be a really interesting sixth round pick.

It seems to me that Reese should come out of today with another edge rusher and the penetrating defensive tackle that I've been pushing for since a few weeks ago. Add those two chips to the two he got yesterday and I think he will have significantly improved the defense, to the point where if they stay healthy they can expect them to win a lot of games for them.

I am assuming that Shockey will be back (and that Gilbride is as we speak designing some plays for him where he splits out and runs some seam patterns). Now let's assume that Reese also acquires a quality offensive lineman to at a minimum add depth and potentially create the possibility that between Whimper and the draftee we get Diehl moving inside by midway through the season.

Put those two sides of the ball together, and remember that we will have added some real strength on special teams, and barring injuries there's no way this team doesn't have a decent shot at repeating. I think it would be good enough that Strahan would want to come back in the realistic hope that he could end his career with back-to-backs.

Terrence, Butler can lay the wood. His problem is catching up to someone so he can do it :-)

And supposedly he was bothered last season by leg injuries that we didn't know about. We'll see this year, but even last year he made some good hits when a guy was in front of him. He couldn't catch my dead Grandmother, but he does have the size and strength to hurt you when he hits you.

And as for Thomas... he's a solid blitzer.  Something we look for.

I'm expecting a WR, DL, LB, and an OG.  But a move would not surprise me as I've said.  Picks 194/8/9 are going to be interesting.

If Reese could somehow come out of today with Bell, Zuttah and Sims I would crown him the Prince of New York. I'd also take Henderson, Scheuning and Bryant.

The key for me, though, is that I think a penetrating defensive tackle to relieve Alford and complement Cofield and Robbins is a significant need, especially because I think that whether Strahan is back or not the coaches will want to get Tuck more opportunities to make the outside rush. We also need offensive line depth. I actually think a linebacker is only the third priority, although I'd like one. And a receiver would be nice, but only in a clear BPA scenario.

I'd like to see Ezra Butler in NY.

Coughlin was just on NFL Network and said a speed receiver is something they're looking for (I think Caldwell is the pick if he's there)

My exception in regard to what I said above is if Bell is available. As I've been saying for weeks, the guy has incredible upside potential and all the physical attributes. I don't know about his disability and whether that's a problem, but if it isn't I think he will be an absolute stud in the NFL. And yes, he can rush the passer, but really is IMHO a far better version of Connor who could eventually be a MLB or a SAM in the league.

Original G Man- I'm hoping that they try to get William Franklin. He is one of my favorite players in this draft but I don't know if he would be a good pick in the 3rd. Maybe move up in the 4th to get him.
