NASCAR's 10 Hottest Drivers - Week 24

1) Jimmie Johnson (Previous position: 1st) - Johnson keeps his first place spot with his seventh place finish at Watkins Glen.  Had to battle back from a flat tire which was great to see.  He also moved up one spot in the Sprint Cup standings.

2) Carl Edwards (Previous position: 2nd) - Having a top ten finish at Watkins Glen keeps him in second place.  Was not a factor at all in the race, but after the race was over he moved into second place in the Sprint Cup Standings.

3) Kyle Busch (Previous position: 5th) - His eighth win of the Sprint Cup season helps moves him up to third place in my power rankings. He is the best racer on the road course races this year.

4) Kasey Kahne (Previous Position: 7th) - As other drivers we bad at Watkins Glen this driver moves up three spots in the rankings.  Another driver that was not a factor at all in the race.

5) Dale Earnhardt Jr. (Previous position: 3rd) - His fuel strategy was a complete bust killing any chances of a win.  He was leading the race at various parts though.  His 22nd place finish even caused him to drop down two spots in the Sprint Cup standings.

6) Martin Truex Jr. (Previous position: 7th) - With a top five finish at Watkins Glen he moves up to sixth place in the power rankings.  His 150 point penalty is really killing him.

7) Jeff Burton (Previous position: 8th) - Burton moves up to seventh while other drivers were worse.  His 17th place finish was not great, but was horrible at all.

8) Jeff Gordon (Previous position: 6th) - Gordon really stunk it up at this track with his 29th place finish.  Did not move him down in the Sprint Cup rankings, but certainly moved him closer to 13th spot.

9) Clint Bowyer (Previous position: 6th) - Finished 23rd at Watkins Glen and found himself right out chase right now.  He has not been super impressive over the past few weeks as well.

10) Matt Kenseth (Previous position: 10th) - Solid finish at Watkins Glen.  A bit tough for me to place him with everyone at the bottom three to four spots in this list tightly packed.  Really needs a breakout performance to impress me.

Biggest gainer: Kasey Kahne - 3

Biggest loser: Clint Boyer - 3

Off List: N/A

New to list again: N/A
