After a relatively rough week, I rebounded with some decent
picks this past Sunday.
Denny Hamlin was not a factor in the race, but had a top ten
finish. Juan Pablo Montoya was properly used and finished fourth.
Jamie McMurray was solidly used and had a top 20 finish.
I had two out of the best three C list drivers. Marcos
came from the last qualifying start to finished third. He even drove his
way to 15th spot at the time of the first caution. Ron Fellows
had a top 15 finish and he also started in the back of the field.
The two "not-so-hot" picks I had were Jeff Gordon, who was
super popular on the fantasy lists this week. He has not been super at
this track for a while though. Robby Gordon was not a factor at all and
needed a mega wreck to move up a whole bunch of spots at once. His data
was super great at this track though and one of the few tracks where he is
useable.
A list active driver:
Carl Edwards
- Third time on this list for Edwards. Over the past six races at this
track he has the best average finish. This week I like his data a lot and feel
that he is very safe A list driver.
B list active Drivers:
Kasey Kahne -
This is Kahne's fifth time on this list. His 2008 season has been really
good to him this year and he almost won the race the last time they showed up
at this track. I think he will have more success at this track and does
have three top five finishes in the past six races.
David Ragan -
Fifth time on this list for Ragan. He only has three starts at this track
with one top ten finish, but I think he will have another solid finish at this
track. He is having one solid 2008 season.
C list active driver:
A.J. Allmendinger
- Second time on this list for Allmendinger. Over the past few weeks this
driver has showcased a lot of top quality finishes. In the last time he
was at this track he finished 19th which is good for a C list active
driver. I am going on a bit of a momentum play here with this active
driver pick.
Sleeper Picks:
Kevin Harvick -
He has a bunch of solid finishes at this track with four of them in the top
twelve. In his last four Sprint Cup starts he has three top ten finishes.
I think he will have another solid finish at this track
Kurt Busch -
Busch is a bit of a B list gamble with this driver. He has three top tens
which includes a win at this track in the past six races, but his 2008 season
so far has not been spectacular.
Brian Vickers - When it comes to C list drivers he has the best data out
of the whole bunch. He has three top ten finishes in the past six races
which is great.
