NOTES: Blank spaces showcase
driver was not in race
This table looks at only the last six races at this track,
drivers that have a start, is also sorted by average finish,
and I also throw in the best average starters
. |
A look at winners
data:
Included is a full
list of winners at this track.
Jeff Gordon owns
this track and is the only driver on this list win the more than one time in a
row.
A look at top tens
data:
Tops ten data
really show that no team has a clear advantage at this track.
No team can even
claim a top ten finish with any driver over the past six years.
One person to look
at in the top tens list is Mark Simo. A one-car team with Boris Said as the
driver who has gone two for two with the top ten finishes.
A look at average
finish data:
Juan Pablo Montoya did win at this track last year, but then wound up with a
totally junky finish at Watkins Glen.
Not much NASCAR road course data to look at with this driver.
Ryan Newman has
best finishing average at this track with six starts, but it is a 9.83
average. At Watkins Glen though he has
two no so hot starts in his past six races, but still solid data.
Tony Stewart is
right behind Ryan Newman in the finish data for Infenion Raceway, but he does
have one win at the trtack. At Watkins
Glen though he is the best driver at the track over the past six races with
four wins.
Jeff Gordon has
four top ten place finishes at this track with a couple of wins, but in the
last six races at Watkins Glen he only has one top ten finish.
Boris Said is
really solid at this track, he does have one junky finish at this track
though. Remove that crappy finish and
his average drops to 9.40.
Drivers that are
not happy at this track include Casey Mears, Jimmy Johnson, Robby Gordon, Dale
Earnhardt Jr., Matt Kenseth, Brian Vickers, and Kasey Kahne.
Around 90% of the
drivers at this track have at best a couple of great finishes at this track and
then the rest are not so great at all.
A look at
qualifying data:
This is one track
where qualifying does not matter at all.
It is all about pit strategy at this track. Tony Stewart is like the best at doing both qualifying and
finishing races.
