1)
Dale Earnhardt Jr. (Previous position: 2
nd) - DEJ
moves up one spot with his tenth place finish at Talladega. He was really great
all race long and has had three top ten finishes in the past four races.
2) Kyle Busch (Previous position: 4th) - Busch moves into second place with his
win at Talladega. He could have had first place with a better all-around performance,
however.
3) Jeff Burton (Previous position: 1st) - Burton moves off
the top of this list with his 12th place finish at the track. He
still has the points lead though, which is great for him in the long run.
4) Clint Boyer (Previous position: 5th) - Boyer moves up
one spot with his with a top ten finish at Talladega. And as long as he
continues with these quality finishes, he will stay on the list.
5) Jimmie Johnson (Previous position: 7th) - A solid
13th place finish moves Johnson up two spots in the points. He is a
hot driver right now and has rebounded big time from his early season stumble.
6) Denny Hamlin (Previous position: 9th) - Hamlin moved up
the list three spots with his third place finish at Talladega. He has
been really hot as of late with five top ten finishes in a row.
7) Kevin Harvick (Previous position: 6th) - Harvick
only moves down one spot with his 24th place finish at
Talladega. He is solid at Richmond, so he should rebound in these rankings.
8) Carl Edwards (Previous position: 3rd) - Edwards drops
five spots with his 40th place finish at Talladega. He had an
awful week, but I do not think his slide will continue.
9) Greg Biffle (Previous position: 9th) - Biffle finished in
18th place, which isn't bad, but not great. He needs better
finishes to move up in the standings.
10-Ryan Newman (Previous position: N/A) - With Tony Stewart and
his unspectacular finish at Talladega, Newman moves back into the final spot on
this list. He had a solid 8th place finish and finds himself in
the top 12 in Sprint Cup Points.
Biggest gainer: Denny Hamlin - 3 spots.
Biggest loser: Carl Edwards - 5 spots
Off List: Tony Stewart
New to list again: Ryan Newman
