NASCAR Food City 500 Expert Picks

Before I say whom I have picked this week, I would like to say that if Kyle Petty performed as well I thought he would have my fantasy draft would have been okay.  Instead, at the end of the day, he made my active driver picks poor and I hope that never happens again this year.

My sleeper picks did well though.

My A list active driver pick for the Food City 500

Kurt Busch:  The long trend data say that he is hot driver at this race track with five wins.  In the last six races he has one win and three total top ten finishes at this track.  He is 10th place in the points and I think he move up even higher in the points.

My B list active driver picks for the Food City 500

Dale Earnhardt Jr.:  DEJ makes it on my active driver list for the second time this season.  Over the past six races he has the best average finish with a 6.5 average and that is why I think you should put him in your fantasy team.  With an even better team this year he has an even better shot to win this race for the second time ever.

Ryan Newman:  Newman has three top ten finishes in the past six races at this track.  This year he is fourth in the points with two top tens.  I do feel that he can continue his hot start to the season.

My C list active driver pick for the Food City 500

Brian Vickers:  Vickers makes it on my active driver list for the second time this season.  He has three top twenty finishes at this track and I think he can continue his hot start to the season. He does have three top 20 finishes at this track.

My sleeper picks for the Food City 500

Bobby Labonte:  In the last six races, Labonte does have two top ten finishes and his start to the season has been great for the Petty Enterprise team as well.  He is 14th in the points which is great for this lower end team.

Reed Sorenson:  A bit of a gamble with this pick.  Sorenson only has four starts at this track with a best finish of 15th, but I think he can get another top 15 finish this weekend.

Kasey Kahne:  He did not do great last week, but I think he has a good shot at doing well this week.  He does have two top ten finishes at this track in the past six races, along with a solid 16.5 average finish.
