My Daytona 500 active driver on the A List:
Jeff Gordon - Multiple wins at this track and a record
amount of top ten finishes in a season last year makes his a sold pick for this
race.
My Daytona 500 active drivers on the B List:
Dale Earnhardt Jr. - He is the 2008 Budweiser Shootout
winner, 2008 Gatorade 150 Dual winner, and has some other wins at this
racetrack as well. A new team and new
confidence is certainly going to make him a top of the line candidate for a top
10 finish.
Greg Biffle - I am taking a gamble with this driver and
picking him. He does have one win at
this track.
My Daytona 500 active driver on the C List:
Michael Waltrip - With his second place qualifying effort on
Sunday and the Toyota engines really running well he is a solid fantasy draft
pick. He also has two Daytona 500
victories over his career at the track.
Daytona 500 sleeper picks:
Mark Martin - Even though he is in a partial schedule and
has yet to win a Daytona race he did finish in 2nd place in
2007. DEI has done well in the past
with restrictor plate races and always brings a car that does well at that
track.
Jeff Burton - Solid driver that has won at the Daytona track
before, but not in the Daytona 500. He
has 8 top ten finishes over 28 races at the track though. Always one the most consistent drivers in
NASCAR.
Clint Boyer- In four races at Daytona his worst finish has
been 18th. I think he is
going to continue where he left off last season and have another solid season
and another solid finish at this track.
