A quick look at my picks from last week:
When it came to my selected drivers last week, the Sleeper Picks turned out
to be more valuable than the active driver selections. For the first time
all year, I had picked the highest scoring A, B, and C level driver.
I will say that Denny Hamlin did well point wise even though he came in 24th
spot. Brian Vickers was a bit poor; his bad starting position was not
helping him at all. He was the only bad pick, in my opinion.
A list active driver:
Matt Kenseth - This is the first
time on the active driver list for Kenseth. The data is not super great
on this driver, but in the past two races he has picked up a top ten
finish. I think he can continue this streak and that is why I am picking
him.
B list active drivers:
Greg Biffle - Biffle's third time
on the active driver list; I like the data on this driver. He has two
wins in the past six races along with a bunch of other quality finishes.
I really feel he can get a top ten finish this weekend.
Bobby Labonte - First timer
here! Labonte may be a bit of gamble,
but I am willing to take the chance. In the past six races at this track
he has showcased that he can pull in top ten finishes, but even in Petty Enterprise
equipment this year he has showcased numerous quality finishes.
C list active driver:
Paul Menard - This is Menard's
second time on the active driver's list.
He only has one start at this track and finished 31st.
I am taking a gamble on this driver that he will get a top 20 finish. All
C level drivers have bad data so it is another pick and pray week.
Sleeper Picks:
Kurt Busch - He is certainly an A
list sleeper pick at this track. His 2008 season has not been great, but
he does have four top 15 place finishes at this track in the past six races. I
think this is a track where he can rebound from his poor showings as of late.
Juan Pablo Montoya - He only has
one start at this track with a 23rd place finish, which is not much to
go on, but in the past six races this season he has five quality
finishes. I do feel he will continue with quality finishes.
David Reutimann - Like Montoya, he
also has only one start on this track with a low-level 33rd place
finish. His 2008 season has not been that super, but I feel he can pull
in a top 20 finish at the track.
