NASCAR Allstate 400 At The Brickyard Expert Picks

A list active driver:

Jeff Gordon - This is the third time on this list for Gordon.  With five finishes of eighth or better in the past six races, I like this driver a lot.  In his last four Sprint Cup races he has three top 11 place finishes.  I think he is going to continue his hot racing at this track.

B list active drivers:

David Ragan - This is the fourth time on this list for Ragan.  He has only one start at this track, which was a sixteenth place finish.  His last two Sprint Cup starts have been top ten finishes.  I am going on a bit of a momentum play here with this pick.

Greg Biffle - Like Ragan, this is the fourth time on this list for Biffle.  Looking at his data over the past five races at this track showcases only one top ten.  He is a bit of a gamble at this track, but I am willing to take one this week.

C list active driver:

Sam Hornish Jr. - Hornish Jr. makes his second apperance on this list.  Well, all the C list drivers are pick and pray this week based on the data. This is a driver that does not have to get in on speed, but has had experience on this track before as an IRL driver.  He has no NASCAR starts on this track though, which means no data.

Sleeper picks:

Kurt Busch - Remove his one stinky finish over the past six races and he has an average finish of 11.60.  He has showcased three solid runs around the 10th place position which is solid.  I feel a solid finish out of him at the Brickyard.

Martin Truex Jr. - His average finish is 24.33 but has improved his finish every time he has raced at the track.  That is a nice trend I think that can continue again. He is a bit of a gamble for this track, but I am taking it in my sleeper section.

Travis Kvapil - I am going with this "pick and pray" sleeper pick here only because of his solid 2008 season he has so far.  His 31.0 average over two races is not great, but only C list driver Brian Vickers has a top five finish at this track.
