My A list active driver pick for the Kobalt Tools 500
Clint
Boyer - He only has four starts at this
track, but the last two have been top ten finishes. His start to the
season has not been super hot, but I think his recent success at this track
will spill on over to the 2008 season.
My B List active driver picks for the Kobalt Tools 500
Martin
Truex Jr. - Second time for me on my active
driver list. He is a bit of a gamble here. In five starts at this
track he has only one top ten finish, but in 2008 he is eighth place in the
points and I think he is going to continue his hot start to the season.
Mark
Martin - He is going onto my active
drivers list for the first time this year. He has four top ten finishes
in the past six races at this track. I think he can continue to have
solid finishes at this track and continue his good start to the season.
He has the car and team to do it.
My C list active driver pick for the Kobalt Tools 500
Kyle Petty - His season has started off crappy. He is 40th
in the points, but will get in the race due to his 2007 owner points. In
the past six races he has three top twenty finishes which does include one top
ten. The track is a bit kind to this driver. He is a big gamble, but a
gamble I am willing to take.
My sleeper Picks for the Kobalt Tools 500
Jimmy
Johnson - He may not be much of a sleeper
pick, but he is not on my active driver list this week He has a bad week last
week and I think he will rebound from it. Over the past six races at this
track he does have the best finishing average and the last two wins at this
track.
Greg
Biffle - He has started out hot this year
and is sixth in the points. At this track over the past six races he has three
top tens. I think he can continue his solid start and is a perfect
sleeper pick for this race.
Ryan
Newman - He also has a hot start to this
year and is third in the points. Atlanta though has not been to kind to
him over the past six races though with an average finish of 24.17 and a best
finish of 14th. He could be a bit of a gamble for your fantasy
team, but I think he will have a solid finish this time.
