• NHL Top Weekly Performances - Goaltenders

  Some of the best performers in the league this week were goaltenders. To say they had a good week would be an understatement. These goaltenders all played their hearts out in order to attempt to claim a remaining playoff spot. Dan Ellis completely ran away with the top goaltender award this week. • NHL Busts of the Week (3/23)

  This week contained several new names to the list. Players such as Zach Parise, Alexander Semin, and Ryan Miller all played subpar hockey this week. The season is winding down; therefore there is not much time to rebound. Most of these players are young and talented enough to not hurt their draft status all too much in next year's draft. • NHL Weekly Busts (3/1)

  This week consists of some familiar faces and some new faces. The main surprise is that two of the best right wings in the league top the list again this week. Daniel Alfredsson and Martin St. Louis both make a run for worst performance of the week. Each is surrounded by talent and each have more talent than normal people could dream of having.   The top defenseman this week is a real shocker. An oft-injured defenseman who hasn't really lived up to expectations takes the gold medal for his performance for the week.   What a week for fantasy defensemen. The best fantasy performers are guys that some people may not even have heard of, or at least heard of all that much. Whether you'd like to call these performances flukes or not, one thing is clear: These young players had great weeks and outperformed well known "big" name players. • NHL Top Defensemen Performances

  In the present day NHL it seems like more and more defensemen look like forwards when it comes to fantasy hockey. Their stats rival those of guys who's main job is to score points. This week, however, things have been a bit slow and the big name defenders have been quiet, at least in fantasy land. The guys who did well this week are not the ones you would expect, though keep an eye open because they may be able to help a team for a decent amount of time.   Centers: R.J. Umberger (Philadelphia Flyers) - After a five point game last week, almost a third of fantasy owners added Umberger to their teams. With only one point in his last three games some of those owners may be looking to get rid of him, but I urge them keep him, and you to sign him.
