• PGA Sleepers: Travelers Championship - TPC River Highlands - Cromwell, CT

  It's tough for me to get this out to you today for a couple reasons. First, of course, was the U.S. Open finish, which is still fresh on everyone's mind; so getting into a second-level tournament less than a week later is difficult. Now for me, I also have to deal with my Boston Celtics smacking the bejeezus out of the Lakers in Game 6 last night 131-92 to win their 17th Championship, the first in 22 years. • PGA Weekly Sleepers: EDS Byron Nelson Championship - TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas- Irving, TX

  As per usual (I love using New York City phrases when I'm not from there. Let's see how many we can get in ...), with a relatively weak field this week, even the favorites are sleepers. Not for nothing, but the Byron Nelson used to be a pretty prestigious tournament, attended by all the prominent players. I assume this has something to do with the Fed-EX Playoffs at the end of the season; although it might simply be that the purses are so high nowadays, and the golfers don't have to play... • PGA Weekly Sleepers: Shell Houston Open - Redstone Golf Club - Humble, TX

  The Tournament Course at Redstone is a long course, close to 7,500 yards and lines with lots of trees and bunkers, and features a lake on the back nine. It's a course than demands accuracy off the tee, and the ability to get it out there. The rest is actually not that tough; the greens are huge and really receptive, and not too difficult to putt on, so if you stay out of trouble off the tee, you'll likely score well on the hole. • PGA Start 'Em Sit 'Em: Shell Houston Open - Redstone Golf Club - Humble, TX

  For the first time in my memory, the week before the Masters doesn't include the BellSouth Classic in Georgia, the traditional tune-up tournament for the Masters. No, unfortunately the PGA has eschewed tradition for a pay day again, and shuffled the schedule to get the Shell Houston Open to be played at this spot instead. Luckily, the Shell Houston Open is a pretty darned prestigious tournament as well, sponsored by a company who's been a sponsor with the PGA for more than 60 years. So I...   It was a tournament of surprises at TPC Louisiana this week, and this week's Top Performances will be no exception to that. • PGA Tournament Sleepers: Zurich Classic of New Orleans - TPC Louisiana - Avondale, LA

  This week the Tour returns to the suburbs of New Orleans to the TPC Louisiana, and anytime you hear the words "Pete Dye designed" you know the course will be a challenge for the golfers this week. In order to do well this week, you'll have to bring your putter, and you'll have to be able to keep it out of the rough and out of the bunkers. The field this week is a little thin following the WGC event, but it's a little better than the Puerto Rico open. There are opportunities...
