• PGA Busts of the Week: Travelers Championship - TPC River Highlands - Cromwell, CT

  This week at TPC River Highlands, there were no excuses. If you're a top-flight player; you had no business finishing outside the top-25. Not only are you supposed to be better than everyone else, it was an easy course. So at times it may be harsh; at times it may be brutal, but any criticism is well-deserved of these players.   It's Jack's Tournament. Jack's tournament, The Memorial, has become one of the most anticipated tournaments each year. Muirfield Village Golf Club was the dream and work of Jack Nicklaus. The golf course is situated on 220 acres, and was officially dedicated on Memorial Day, May 27, 1974, with an exhibition match between Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf. • PGA Top Weekly Performances: Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial - Colonial Country Club - Ft. Worth, TX

  Colonial proved to be as tough as ever, but the top of the leaderboard had a great week and came up with really fine performances on the technical course. Although the day will be ruled by the story of the winner; taking a quick peek at the rest of the top-15 will give you an idea on how stiff the competition was this week, and how well the most successful players dealt with it. • PGA Top Tournament Performances: Wachovia Championship - Quail Hollow Country Club, Charlotte, NC

  It's no secret that I feel the CBS golf announcers are by far the best in the business. That said, I have to take issue with the constant pimping of the Quail Hollow course as a "U.S. Open Quality" course. When the winner of the championship wins with a score of 272 (-16), it is NOT "U.S. Open Quality". To make that course even near that quality, you'd have to grow the rough another couple inches, and not water the greens and fairways for about a year. And even then, it's...   Poor Stewart Cink. It's tough to see meltdowns; and it's even tougher to see them on the golf course; mainly because we all can identify with it.
