Before the NFL had its bye week when I very first started playing
fantasy football in 1992 Week 16 was the most difficult week to play.
Players were injured, starters were resting, and our benches weren’t
deep enough to field a decent starting lineup. Thank God the NFL
adopted their bye week, but it didn’t seem to change the difficulty of
fielding a lineup during week 16. However, it made things just a little
bit easier.
This week I am going with the Top-Ten at each position. If your
players aren’t on here take a look at Thursday NFL Wire Tap. If you
can’t acquire a player from there, good luck.
Tom Brady: The Patriots want to go 16-0 this year and tie Miami’s
regular season record. Brady wants to break Manning’s single-season
touchdown record and he has the weapons to do so. Both will happen!
Projected Points: 30
Tony Romo: It’s a good thing that the Cowboys lost to Philadelphia
last week. Romo has to play this week and the Cowboys must win out to
claim home field advantage throughout the playoffs. They don’t want to
go to Green Bay and playing in Carolina this week Romo will be back on
point.
Projected Points: 28
Ben Roethlisberger: The fact that the Steelers cannot score by
running the ball Ben has to carry the load and assure this team of a
divisional win. St. Louis has struggled as a team all season long, but
with their offense and the fact that they are playing at home, this
game will offer plenty of scoring.
Projected Points: 27
Brett Favre: This divisional rivalry game will bring out the best in
Brett Favre this week. Favre will play the entire game and the Packers
will win big.
Projected Points: 25
Carson Palmer: The Bengals aren’t headed to the playoffs, but the
motivation to beat the Browns and play possible spoiler is just as big.
It won’t make up for the Bengals having such and underachieving season
but it will allow them to rest a little easier during the offseason.
Projected Points: 25
Sage Rosenfels: With the Colts assured of a first round bye in the
playoffs they will begin resting players this week. Good news for
Rosenfels considering he wants to be recognized as a starter headed
into next season.
Projected Points: 24
Drew Brees: Brees continues to fly under the radar by being the
fourth or fifth quarterback taken in weekly cash competitions. Make no
mistake about it, Brees is back and the Saints are headed to the
playoffs. However, the Eagles would love to play spoiler two weeks in a
row, but that will not be enough motivation to shut down this passing
game.
Projected Points: 22
Derek Anderson: With Jamal Lewis running the ball the way he has
over the past five weeks Anderson’s productivity has declined a bit.
Not to worry, the Browns smell playoffs and they head to one of the
leagues worst pass defenses, Cincinnati.
Projected Points: 22
Kurt Warner: Warner would also like to be considered a starter
headed into next season, therefore, he will go out with a bang at home
against the Falcons. His left elbow continues to bother him, but not
enough to where he won’t be productive.
Projected Points: 21
Donovan McNabb: McNabb had a great week in Dallas last week and
spoiling the Saints playoff hopes is in the game plan. He may not spoil
them but he will have another good game in the Super Dome.
Projected Points: 20
