This, sadly, will be the last NBA Fantasy Sleepers edition of the
season. It's Championship week here in Fantasyland, and no matter who you
have on your team now, you can
always use an extra edge over your
opponent. I've got three guys who can do just that, and if you start them
they can possibly help you win your championship. Here are the
Championship Sleepers:
Sleeper #1
Tayshaun Prince, DET: Prince has been up and down
this season, but Detroit likes to rest its starters before the playoffs.
Prince is the only one who will continue to start through the end of the
regular season. That means that the Pistons will rely on him to get
things done on the court and help him prepare for what they will need out of
him in the playoffs. Detroit plays Miami, New York, Philly
and Washington this week. No. 22 will explode against Miami and New
York, whose seasons are lost and defenses are down. When he faces Andre
Iguodala and Caron Butler at the end of the week, he may struggle a bit, but
not enough to affect your points. He's on an upswing right now, and being
a Piston, he knows how to win a championship. Expect his help this week.
Sleeper #2
Mike Miller, MEM: Miller plays for a struggling
Grizzlies team, and despite this fact he still manages to get 16.2 points, 3.4
assists and 6.6 rebounds per game. The Grizzlies aren't going to the
playoffs, but they aren't giving up either. This week Memphis faces
Phoenix, Miami and Minnesota, which means Miller will see Raja Bell, Daequan
Cook, and Marko Jaric. Bell is the best defender that Miller faces this
week, and Bell isn't having the best season. Look for Miller to trounce
on Cook in Miami and then return home to do the same against Jaric, who's
having a horrible season. He'll get you over the edge this week to help
you win your championship, so make sure you start him.
Sleeper #3
Jameer Nelson, ORL: I was surprised to see that
Nelson is only owned in about 63% of leagues. Well if you've got him,
make sure you get him in your lineup because he will help you win this
week. Nelson returned to action yesterday after sustaining a concussion
against the Spurs on March 25th. He played 32 minutes and had 16 points,
nine assists and two steals. Orlando faces Chicago and Minnesota this
week, and even though they clinched their division, the team isn't making any
changes. Nelson will see Larry Hughes and Marko Jaric this week. Do
I need to say anything else? Start him.
That's it for the final edition of NBA Fantasy Sleepers for
the 2007-2008 season. Good luck to those of you who made it this far!
