NBA Top Weekly Performances - Centers

You can't win in this league without a guy who can score in the post and defend the rim.  That's what all these guys do, literally anchoring their teams to success.  This one is a yawn-fest this week folks; nothing unusual to see here.

Gold

Amare Stoudemire - PF/C - Phoenix Suns - Presenting to you, for the millionth week in a row in the top spot, it's Amare.  Phoenix might be struggling post-Awful Shaq trade; but Stoudemire's not.  His performance last week: 29.2 pts, 8.9 reb, 1.4 asst against 2.5 turn/game; 0.8 stl, 1.8 blk and shot 57.1% FG, and 86.9% FT.

Silver

Marcus Camby - C - Denver Nuggets - We can lather, rinse and repeat on Camby as well.  There's nothing to see here but sheer awesomeness from the former Minuteman.  Camby this week: 9.1 pts, 12.3 reb, 2.9 asst against 1.5 turn/game; 1.4 stl, 3.9 blk and shot 44.6% FG and 70.8% FT.

Bronze

Pau Gasol - PF/C - Los Angeles Lakers - If the Lakers win the NBA Title this year; does Memphis GM Chris Wallace get the Finals MVP?  Just sayin'.  Gasol this week: 20.4 pts, 8.4 reb, 3.1 asst against 1.9 turn/game, 0.7 stl, 1.9 blk and shot 60.3% FG, and 76.7% FT.  I guess Kobe can pass the ball after all.  Who knew?

For those who are in dire need of totals, we have a new top three.  In first is the streaking, no, trending Mehmet Okur (PF/C - Utah Jazz - 4 games), who's been on fire for about a month now.  Second place goes to forgotten Al Horford (PF/C - Atlanta Hawks - 5 Games), which, thanks to Mike Bibby, should probably become more of a normal performance from him.  Finally, third place in totals goes to the Boston Celtics' Kendrick Perkins.  He had a monster 10 point, 20 rebound performance against Detroit in this stretch, and has put up three more double-doubles in a row.  You may have heard of Perkins; possibly because I mentioned him here , here , here , oh yeah and here.  If you need Center help, he's likely available for now; and will be getting a lot of PT now that the Celtics have pretty much sewn things up in the East.
