There have been some solid performances this week. Last week's power
forwards seemed to rely mostly on trades, yet the performers this week relied
more on pure skill. The power forwards this week may not have scored the most
points. However, they had the best all around games. If you were lucky enough to
own these players then you most likely had some nice fantasy numbers, plus
several wins to boot. Each player deserves the recognition for their strong
performances.
Gold
1.) Mehmet Okur (Power Forward - Utah Jazz) - Okur is playing with a
passion this week. He's a very valuable fantasy member. He's eligible as a
power forward and center, he can score points, he can shoot at a high
percentage, and he can hit three-pointers. He obviously showcased all of his
skills this week. His numbers for the week are below:
4 games, .588 FG%, .773 FT%, 10 3PTM, 87 PTS, 46 REB, 6 AST, 5 ST, 2 BLK,
and 6 TO.
He made over 50% of his shots, had a large amount of 3's, and averaged a
double/double. He is a very versatile player and is playing at an elite level.
He has averaged 21.1 points and 12 rebounds over the last six games.
Silver
2.) Jared Dudley (Power Forward - Charlotte Bobcats) - Dudley has
been great this week. However, Gerald Wallace is coming back from injury and
will eat into his playing time. In his last four games Wallace has played over
30 minutes. Each game that he played at least 30 minutes the Bobcats won.
Earlier in the season he was averaging 5.2 points and 3 rebounds. However, in
his last few games he has averaged over 14 points and 10 rebounds. His weekly
stat line is as follows:
5 games, .487 FG%, .857 FT%, 4 3PTM, 54 PTS, 45 REB, 7 AST, 9 ST, 3 BLK,
and 2 TO.
He has been on a roll this week. He kept his turnover downs, shot a high
percentage of free throws, and scored a fair amount of points. He has dominated
when he's played, such as his March 5th performance when he
collected 18 rebounds. His value will be going down once Wallace comes back
however, until then Dudley should be started and owned.
Bronze
3.) Antawn Jamison (Power Forward - Washington Wizards) - Jamison can
be dominant at times. This week he showed what an important fantasy fixture he
can be. He has been scoring, hitting three-pointers, been blocking shots, and
been pulling down rebounds. He has put up some outstanding numbers and deserves
recognition for his fine play on the week. His stats for the week are as
follows:
4 games, .436 FG%, .813 FT%, 8 3PTM, 102 PTS, 41 REB, 5 AST, 5 ST, 5 BLK,
and 5 TO.
He's been pretty much unstoppable this week. He's averaged over 21 points
this season and had back-to-back double/doubles this week. He followed a 25
point, 16 rebound performance with a 30 point, 10 rebound game. He's also
scored 25 points in three of his last four games. He's been having quite a
solid season and should be plugged into all lineups.
