NBA Top Performances - Small Forwards

My apologies for not getting this up yesterday! This week, I have three guys who excelled above the rest of their peers at Small Forward. There could have been a few more, but I decided to cut a couple of guys out at the last minute for length's sake. Even though the All-Star voting is over and everyone is getting ready for the break, the following three guys haven't slowed down at all. In fact, most of them have picked up their game over the past few weeks. Here are this week's Top Small Forwards:

Corey Maggete, LAC: Maggette has been huge for the Clippers all season, but last week he played better than he has been. He averaged 25.8 points, three assists, 6.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals and four turnovers in 41.8 minutes. Corey has stepped it up this season since Sam Cassell missed all but two games in December. The Clippers have needed him, and he has delivered. That isn't going to change anytime soon, so make sure you keep him in your starting lineup!

LeBron James, CLE: What else can I say about LeBron James? He's strong, he's talented, he's athletic, and he's always going to be on this list! He is consistently the best small forward every week. Last week he averaged 29 points, 7.7 assists, six rebounds, 2.7 steals and two turnovers in 36.7 minutes. The guy is a beast. No one can talk about the Cavs without mentioning his name, and no one can deny that he is the face of Cleveland. He lived up to his hype coming out of high school and into the NBA, and now he's going above what people expected. Don't lose this guy; keep him on your team and starting.

Josh Howard, DAL: The Mavericks must be excited that their 2003 draft pick is everything they expected him to be. He played in 67 games and started 29 of them during his rookie season, and since then he has started every game he's played in except two. Howard is lean and strong, and he's still getting better. Last week he averaged 26.3 points, 1.3 assists, 9.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.7 turnovers in 40.3 minutes. He averages 20.8 points and 7.6 rebounds on the season, so you can see where he excelled this week. Howard is a consistent player and worth keeping in your starting lineup at all times.

That's it for this week; make sure you check back next Sunday to see if any of your fantasy players made the Top Performances lists!
