• Cardinals Deal Edmonds to the Padres

  Jim Edmonds and $2 million were traded Saturday from the Cardinals to the Padres in exchange for minor league third baseman David Freese. The 37-year-old Edmonds will fill the gap in CF left by the departing Milton Bradley. The Padres will, in effect, be paying Edmonds $6 million for '08, after which he will become a free agent. Edmonds is probably not a player you should be getting too excited about for your fantasy team. The Padres certainly think he has something left, but it is very likely...
