Honestly, nothing came from left field this past week. I can't even use some
catch phrase line to spice it up. These three top performers are getting the
gold, silver, bronze not because of last week, but mainly because they're the
best of the worst.
Gold
David DeJesus (Kansas City) -
David has a seven game hit streak going with 11 hits during that time. He has
not only given good offensive performance, but he is errorless in playing LF,
CF, and RF this season for the Royals. David is showing quite a lot of
improvement compared to the last five seasons of play also. 6% of GMs added him
after he went 9 for 24 with two home runs, seven RBIs and batted .375 last
week, which was also a performance good enough to earn the gold.
Silver
Johnny Damon (New York) - Johnny
has been a hitting machine for the Yankees lately and that didn't stop this
past week. Wasn't much in the power column, but still hit in nine out of 29
plate appearances with three runs and an average of .310. Damon is on pace to
match his home runs and RBIs from last season and pass the amount of hits and
doubles without a problem if he stays this consistent.
Bronze
Fred Lewis (San Francisco) - Lewis
has made this list before and because of the lack of solid left field
performance. Lewis also has a little hit streak going on right now also and has
15 hits in his last 11 games. Fred has found his spot in a very quiet San
Francisco lineup.
