It was finally a decent week for left fielders. Some kind of production came
from them and it was actually good. I am proud to present this week's gold,
silver and bronze performance for left field.
Gold
Matt Holliday (Col) - Matt has
been on a tear as of lately and it didn't slow down last week. If anything, it
got better. Matt went 12 for 27 with eight runs, three home runs, 10 RBIs, two
stolen bases and batted .444 for the week. He is raising his season stats very
quickly and he is now the league leader in batting average with .342 on the
season. Holliday has gone from "egh" to whoa and it was good enough for the
gold this week.
Silver
Andre Ethier (LAD) - Where did
this performance come from? Andre is rocking a six game hit streak, which for
him is good and last week he went 10 for 31 with eight runs, three home runs,
six RBIs and batted .323. This performance brought up his season numbers and
made him look quite good on the year. Hopefully Andre can keep it up; he has
almost reached his two previous season stats in half the time.
Bronze
Elijah Dukes (Was) - I knew
Elijah was going to be good and live up to his hype. He isn't playing like
Holliday but he did well enough to earn himself the bronze this week so he has
to be doing something right. This past week he went 8 for 27 with six runs,
three home runs, four RBIs, two stolen bags and batted .296. He only has 52
games in right now and seems to be improving greatly in many aspects if you
check out last year's stats.
